ÖGSL invites you to the 1st Snow.Semmelnar of the winter season 2022/23, with Dr. Momchil Panayotov of the University of Forestry in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The event will take place on Monday, 03.10.2022, from 12:00-13:00 in the form of a webinar. At the same time, however, the event can also be attended in the BFW seminar room of the Innsbruck Hofburg!

Momchil Panayotov (University of Forestry, Dendrology Dept., SOFIA)
Momchil Panayotov teaches dendrology at the University of Forestry in Sofia and also conducts extensive research in mountain ecosystems, including avalanches. An avid freerider, he was involved in the founding of the Bulgarian Extreme and Freeski Association (BEFSA) more than 20 years ago and has actively participated in most of its activities. He is the current president of BEFSA. He has always been very active and responsible for avalanche safety and general organisation of numerous freeride competitions, including two Freeride World Tour Qualifiers. Together with freerider friends, he started organising various avalanche safety trainings more than 15 years ago and has given numerous lectures and courses and written books and other information materials. He is a member of the volunteer team of the Mountain Rescue Service (Team Sofia). A few years ago he was a founding member of the Bulgarian Avalanche Society. This monitors snowfalls and issues avalanche warnings.
